Wedding Information Pack

Wedding Reception Area

The venue comfortably accommodates up to 130 guests, including floor space for dancing. The positioning of tables will be done to our client’s requirements. A long table is provided for the bridal group and round tables, seating up to six per table, are provided for guests. The wedding ceremony can be held in a hired tent or gazebo on our lush green lawns.

For smaller weddings, a set of attractive screens can be used to screen off a section of the venue floor space – this tends to make the remaining function space more cosy and intimate. Large or small, our attention to detail remains the same.

Accommodation for Wedding Guests

Comfortable accommodation can be provided at Rondekuil for up to 24 guests at reasonable prices – see the accommodation. If a wedding reception is booked at Rondekuil over a weekend, we normally require guests to book for 2 evenings. Additional accommodation is available at guesthouses in Durbanville, which are a 10 to 12 minute drive from Rondekuil.

Serving Meals

Your wedding meal can be served plated, or buffet-style from two large granite tables to the side of the venue nearest to the kitchen.

Cash Bar

A cash bar is located in one corner of the venue and there are normally one or two helpful barmen in attendance. If a “tab” is run, a cash deposit is required to cover the cost of drinks ordered by guests. If preferred by our client, we can arrange to run a combination of a cash bar and ‘tab’.

Details of all wedding arrangements will be communicated during our wedding discussions, which will help ensure that the event is planned thoroughly so that that you will have peace of mind and you, your family and friends will enjoy your reception to the full.

Prices and Costs

Hire of Venue

	Friday to Sunday & Public Holidays	Monday to Thursdays

Up to 40 guests:	R5 000	R4 000
41 to 80 guests:	R6 500	R5 000
81 to 130 guests:	R8 000	R6 000

The above venue hire fee is normally increased on 1 September each year by the anticipated rate of inflation.

Winter Discount on the Venue Hire Fee
A 15% discount is applicable from 1 May to 31 July each year.

Securing Deposit
A deposit of R3 000 needs to be paid up front in order to secure the hiring of the venue.

The price includes:

Venue
VAT & service charge
Tables, chairs and glasses
Crockery, cutlery, white linen, serviettes and serving staff (none of these when client does self catering)
Secure parking for the Bridal Party and Guests
Bar staff

The price excludes:

All décor other than above
Food and beverages
Any live music requirements such as a DJ or band and sound equipment

Venue Hire Deposit

A deposit is required to secure the hiring of the Rondekuil Venue on the required date:	R3 000
Breakage Deposit

Refundable deposit required to cover any damages and breakages:	R1 000
Wedding Ceremony
An area of the venue can be screened off for holding a wedding ceremony and the required chairs provided for up to 60 guests: For larger weddings a marquee, tent or gazebo can be hired and erected at our client’s cost.	R1 000
Catering by Rondekuil
The cost of a delectable three-course meal until 31 August 2012 - Option 1:	R215/guest
The cost of a delectable three-course meal until 31 August 2012 - Option 2:	R180/guest
The menu options can be viewed by clicking on: Menu Selection From 1 September each year catering prices will increase by between 6 to 10 percent, depending on the inflation rate. We are willing to discuss and provide a quote for any alternative menu you may wish to have served at the reception.
Self- Catering

Self-catering arranged by our client, can be considered. The cost will be discussed with our client and will depend on the items of Rondekuil's catering equipment, linen etc required.
Cash Bar Deposit

A cash bar or a “tab” can be run, or a combination of cash bar and “tab” can be implemented. If a tab is run, a deposit for the set tab amount will be required.
Corkage
A wine corkage charge is levied on wine supplied by a client: Corkage needs to be paid, with other charges, before the wedding.	R20/bottle
Refunds
Within seven days after the wedding, any amount of the tab deposit or the breakage deposit that remains unused by the end of the wedding reception, will be refunded to our client by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
